OMG Rachel Vater finally replied to my query…and rejected it. BUT WAIT, here’s the awesome part. Below the rejection blurb (“sorry, but it isn’t right for my list, maybe some other agent will…blah blah”) she wrote a footnote that says:
” *** Despite your young age, this is one of the better query letters I’ve
read tonight. I hope you keep writing and keep submitting. If you’re writing this well at 14, I’ll bet you get your first book published while you’re still a teenager.”
OMG I want to run and give Rachel a big hug. That little footnote made up for the fact that she rejected me…almost.
Wow, she sent this after I last checked my email…which was around 10ish. She must be into late night stuff. LOL
Yay! What a great compliment. I am happy for you. You may be getting lots of rejections but you will get published someday. Someday soon!
